Pacers Events offers full-service event management, finish line and scoring, and
chip timing services to area events. We develop individual packages for events
based on the organization's needs and budget. Some of the benefits of selecting
Pacers Events for your race is access to promoting your event in our retail stores,
free space for packet pick ups, and access to ad space in our newsletters to over
7,000 local runners. We welcome convention managers looking
to add a run/walk to their convention schedule of events! We also
specialize in kid's fun runs.
Full Event Management Services
Depending on the need's of your organization, Pacers Events can manage all or some
of the aspects of your event and will work with you to ensure your event is a
success. Specific services include, but are not limited to, course design, USATF
certification and sanctioning, permits, course and finish line deployment, procurement
of goods and related-race services, registration management, timing and scoring,
promotion, and overall race direction for your event. Pacers Events serves as the
event management team for several events in the region, including:
George Washington Parkway Classic 10 Mile and 5K
Working with the GW Parkway Classic Race Committee, the event raised $50,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Alexandria. In Pacers Events first year of managing this event, this race had the highest number of participants registered (3,700) and raised the most money for the Boys & Girls Culb in the race's 23-year history.
Gulf Coast Relief 5K Run/Walk
Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Pacers sponsored and managed the Gul
f Coast Relief 5K Run/Walk in September 2005. In conjunction with our sponsors-James
Carville and Mary Matalin, The City of Alexandria, Roll Call, Mizuno, and the Harvest
Bread Company-we raised over $120,000 for the American Red Cross. With over 4,000
participants, Pacers managed all aspects of the event, including obtaining emergency
permits, working with and procuring sponsors, registration, and execution of this
inaugural event. The Gulf Coast Relief Run earned both local and national accolades
and was featured in the October 2005 Runners World magazine.
National Spelling Bee 5K Run and 2K Walk
Pacers Events was contracted to develop and execute the inaugural 5K run and 2K walk
for participants of the National Spelling Bee and their families. This event of 400
children and parents took place on the scenic National Mall and was covered by ABC
News.
Finish Line Services
Pacers Events can time and score your event and manage your finish line area. Services
include, but are not limited to, manual or chip timing, scoring and results, finish line
corral set up and management, and posting of results to Pacers website.
Chip Timing
In conjunction with our Baltimore partners Charm City Run Timing, we offer AMB-i.t.
chip timing services. Our chip timing services include all finish line timing services
listed above and race scoring utilizing the AM- i.t. electronic scoring system. Pacers
Events/Charm City Run electronically times several events in the region, including:
- National Marathon (2,000 participants)
- GW Parkway Classic 10 Mile and 5K Run (3,700 participants)
- Gulf Coast Relief Run (2,500 participants)
- Arlington 9-11 Run to Remember 5K Run (2,000 participants)
