Phil Hargis

Phil Hargis
has been an avid runner since April of 2006 when he started running (along with diet) to lose 90 pounds in six months. Since then, he has raced in five marathons and an assortment of shorter distance races. He runs six days a week and has been using a personal running coach for the past few years to keep him motivated and healthy. He enjoys being a competitive Clydesdale runner against other athletes weighing a lot less then he does. Phil is also a big time foodie and running helps him afford that lifestyle and keep most of the pounds off. Phil’s most memorable race was the 2008 Virginia Beach Rock and Roll Half Marathon which he dedicated to his aunt after she had been recently diagnosed with leukemia. He helped raise some funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Phil is a home grown northern Virginian who now lives in Falls Church. Phil produces and hosts a weekly local public access tv show called “Fantasy Sports Review” which airs in Fairfax county on Cox Cable so when he is not out doing his daily loops around Falls Church you can catch him there.
