Shawn Johns 
Shawn Johns started running with his parents during the running boom of the 1970’s while growing up in Juneau, Alaska. He is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, located in South Dakota and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. When he is not competing in the masters division at local 5K’s and 10K’s he is racing for an age group podium finish at the Olympic and Half Ironman distances in the Triathlon.
His best accomplishments in 2009 was a 1st place finish in his age group at Pacers Clarendon Day 10K, 4th place finish in his age group at the Nation’s Triathlon with a PR of 2:11:46 in the International distance and a 2nd place overall masters finish at the Giant Acorn Triathlon International distance held at Lake Anna Beach Marina, Bumpass, Virginia. Shawn is currently training for the Half Ironman Triathlon distance and hopes to qualify for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 on November 13, 2010 in Clearwater, Florida.
Favorite Race: Capital Hill Classic 10K. It had been a long time since I last raced. I forgot how much fun road racing can be!
Favorite Running Location: Nations Capital to Lincoln Memorial and back. My knees love it! Its mostly grass and dirt.
Favorite Shoe: Nike Luna Racer
Running Motto or Advice: If your sore after a hard run the next day, its a good thing, you are still getting into great running shape!
