Jeff Le

Jeff Le
was never a runner until he started shuffling on a treadmill on April 1, 2008. At 290 pounds, Jeff was in poor health and had difficulty walking up stairs. But after a commitment to change his lifestyle, he embraced running and got a second chance at life. From April to October 2008, Jeff lost 130 pounds, ran with the DC Road Runners, raised over $5,000 for the American Institute for Cancer Research and ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 3:42:10. Since then, he has since ran the 2009 Chicago Marathon (3:16:48) and qualified for the Boston Marathon in his home state of California at the California International Marathon in December 2009 (3:10:47).

An avid traveler and sports fanatic, he has been to over 60 countries and drove across America to visit every baseball stadium in the United States. Jeff is a program officer at a DC-based international nonprofit, nonpartisan organization working to support and strengthen democratic institutions worldwide through citizen participation, openness and accountability in government. He lives in Washington, DC and dreams of one day running a sub-3:00 marathon.
