Allie Weiskopf

Alexandra “Allie” Weiskopf
runs, but doesn’t think of herself as a runner. You can usually spot her in the back, running slowly, but with a lot of heart! She trains with the Pentagon Row Pacers and the Clarendon Pacers. Allie ran the Marine Corps Marathon this past fall, and is hoping to run the Dublin Marathon this fall. Her favorite marathon was in San Francisco when (hot!) firemen in tuxedos gave out Tiffany’s necklaces at the finish line. Over the past two years, Allie has raised more than $10,000 for her favorite charity, Fisher House Foundation. Fisher Houses are the military’s equivalent of Ronald McDonald Houses, and help military families at a time when their loved ones are suffering most.

Allie is a Captain in the United States Army. She works at the Pentagon as a Public Affairs Officer, a job she likens to being a full-time Army cheerleader. This summer, the Army will send her to Georgetown University to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication with a minor in Political-Military Affairs.

Allie also enjoys mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, skiing, and long walks on the beach. She hopes to complete her first triathlon this year. She lives in Arlington and her favorite running partner is her 65-year-old dad.

Favorite Race: Army 10-Miler - it’s Army homecoming!

Favorite Running Route: Iwo Jima to the Capitol and back (National Mall)

Favorite Shoe: Whatever makes me stop blistering so much

Inspiration Comes From: Soldiers who have lost a leg and continue to out-run me… “I have nothing to complain about”

My Pacers Spot: Pacers - Pentagon Row for the Fun Runs, and Pacers - Clarendon for the merchandise, but my mom thinks the Pacers - Fairfax “have the prettiest displays - they make you want to buy everything there!”
