Stephanie Wezowicz

Stephanie Wezowicz
has been an avid runner since she was 14. Cut from the freshman field hockey tryouts, joining the ‘come one, come all’ cross country team changed her life. Stephanie ran all through college on the Trinity College cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. Running on a team has always been a home away from home. Since then, Stephanie ran the San Diego marathon in 2004 as part of the Train Against Stroke Team, raising $2,800 for the American Stroke Association. In 2008, she ran the NYC marathon and has plans to train for a third this fall.

Pushed by her lifelong friend and roommate (and fellow Pacers Ambassador!), Bridget Yearwood, Stephanie has been training with Pacers Alexandria and Arlington Fun Runs since moving to the DC area 2 ½ years ago. Not being a major morning person, Stephanie has now grown to love (and run every week) the Pacers Arlington Greenberrys and Brooklyn Bagel Fun Runs at 5:00am and 5:30am respectively. Along with the B&RB Ladies, coached by the inspiring Sandy May, these runs and the people are truly something to wake up for! Stephanie and Bridget were among the first loyal Brooklyn Bagel Fun Runners and helped to recruit members in making it as popular as it is today.

Running Motto or Advice: Changing running shoes every 3-4 months has kept me injury free for a long time; in addition, proper orthotic support inside your shoe is critical for any runner.
