Bridget Yearwood

Bridget Yearwood has been running since she was in middle school. Running and cross-country has always been a fun activity to do with friends and has a “family” type feel to it. While serving in Iraq, Bridget joined up with a few friends to start a work-out group that met for early morning runs. We continued the tradition after re-deploying to Germany and decided to train for the Rome Marathon in 2007 before returning to the states. Since then Bridget has run the past three Marine Corps Marathons and plans to train for another marathon in the fall.

Bridget moved to the Washington, DC area in August 2007 and immediately found the Pacers Alexandria Saturday fun run group where she and her roommate, Stephanie Wezowicz, made new running friends. Bridget and Stephanie are also a part of the Pacers Greenberry’s and Brooklyn Bagel Fun Runs with Sandy May on Tuesday mornings. We were among the 4-5 runners when this group first started up and are proud to see how it has expanded. We love to see the early morning fun runners light up the streets of Arlington!

Running Motto or Advice: A race is a test of training, strength, and perseverance but in the end it’s all about the people who trained with you and helped along the way. There is nothing quite like running a marathon and having your friends, family, and training buddies cheer you on and waiting for you at the finish!
