The Scoop: January 22, 2018

The Scoop: January 22, 2018

Talking about the weather can be lame, but stop everything and get outside. It is January 22 and it is not a crazy idea to run in shorts. This is a gift and we know it, enjoy your miles and soak up all of the vitamin D.

Here are a couple of great excuses reasons to get outside. Don’t forget to take a look at the variety of morning and evening runs from each location and around town. Keep your new year’s streak alive and make plans to run with fiends.

MINT Fun Run

Tonight at Pacers 14th Street at 6:30pm join up with the run club and get in some miles followed by some strength work with the folks from MINT gym. Come for the run and stay for the muscles.

Special Shack Track and Field

Tuesday night, January 23 is an extra special edition of Shack Track and Field. The Griddled Chick’n Club Run will leave all of the usual locations – Pacers Navy Yard (6:30pm), Clarendon, 14th Street, and Pentagon Row (at 7pm) and head over to the Shack in Dupont for a complimentary Griddled Chick’n Club.

The Biggest Running Party of the Year

This Thursday night is quite literally The Biggest Running Party of the Year. Tickets are limited and  they not only do you get into all of the fun at the District Distilling Co. to enjoy a cocktail or two,  you can see fellow runners in “real” clothing, check out the distillery, dance and sip whisky. Not a bad plan for a Thursday night. Get your run crew together and grab your tickets today.

Gear Swaps

Good ideas grow and we have proof. Colleen and the Navy Yard fun run crew are hosting a gear swap next week on January 30. Bring the gear you no longer love/like/need and maybe your gear will make someone else’s run fantastic. The kicker is any gear that’s leftover does not go back home with you to sadly sit at the back of a drawer it will go to Back on My Feet to help other runners on their journey. The catching part: the gear swap is also going to happen at Pacers Alexandria, same day, January 30 because Joe and Sonia know an excellent idea when they see one.

Love the Run You’re With Dating Game

Rather than a post Love the Run You’re With party we are hosting a pre run party. Best. Plan. Ever.  On Wednesday February 7 we are hosting Pacers Running version of the Dating Game at the Board Room VA from 6-9pm. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate if you you are playing the game or just dropping by to cheer on your favorite contestant.
