Sometimes love comes from the most unexpected of places. In 2011, Danielle, a runner, who had recently moved to the area, signed up to run the Clarendon Day Run with her friends. Little did she know at the time this race would solidify her love with Pacers Running and she would meet the man who would become her husband.
At the time, her now-husband Nick looked outside and saw a lot of people outside in the street outside his apartment building; he happens to live across from Pacers Clarendon. Nick decided to check out what was happening and ending up heading over to Ireland’s Four Courts to hang out with his friends and watch some football.
After finishing her race Danielle and her friends went out to the bars and ended up at Four Courts too. She notes that she had a “little extra guts” at the time and began talking trash to a guy at the bar about the football game that was on. It turns out the guy she was talking with was Nick’s friend and he encouraged Danielle to go and give Nick a hard time about his team, Notre Dame. Danielle did just that, and as a Michigan fan, let Nick know what she really thought about his team. Note: she noticed Nick earlier in day and was pretty happy to be chatting with him.
Nick and Danielle married in 2013; they continue to live across the street from Pacers Clarendon and run all of the races they can with their friends and their dogs. Danielle loves to talk up Pacers Races to her friends and get other involved in the running community.
Danielle’s run love tips:
- There are a lot of cute boys and girls who run Pacers Races.
- When you are running you are all natural it is just you, you are not all made up. You are yourself, making it so much easier to make a connection with others.
- If you are running together you probably have a lot in common and the traits that make you a runner often align other major traits that are important in a relationship and life in general.
We at Pacers Running can not promise you a love story like Danielle and Nick’s but we can promise you a supportive community, a seamless event, and fun #ForEveryRun. Plus, you are not going to meet anyone cute if you don’t leave your apartment.
