Pacers Running Making Mid-Summer Moves

Pacers Running Making Mid-Summer Moves

Since 1991, Pacers Running has grown from a single door in Old Town, Alexandria to having six retail locations and a robust online site, hosting fourteen races, and offering many training opportunities to the community.

This summer, we are making some big moves with the opening of a new retail location in Navy Yard and a re-location to an expanded footprint in Logan Circle.

We are excited to announce our expansion to Navy Yard and the Capital Riverfront in the Boilermaker Shops.  For several years we have looked at options to service this great part of the city and are happy to now call Navy Yard home. Pacers Navy Yard will be a haven for runners with the curated product assortment, knowledgeable and friendly staff, events, and training opportunities DC area runners have come to expect from Pacers Running.

Pacers Navy Yard will open in August 2015 next to Bluejacket Brewery at 300 Tingey Street, SE.

Located at 1821 14th St, NW, between City Paws and El Centro, the larger and airier footprint will allow for expanded product offerings and events.

We are excited for the opportunity to move our location to an incredible part of the neighborhood nestled between great retail and restaurant options and we are committed to continuing the great activities and runs, as well as providing our stellar customer service, for all runners and fitness enthusiasts who have come to know us in Logan Circle.

Pacers Logan Circle will operate from its current location until the 4th of July weekend. A soft opening at the new location is slated for just after the 4th with a grand re-opening scheduled for mid-July.

In addition to the above moves, Pacers Running will be closing its doors at Pacers Pentagon Row June 28, 2015.

Pacers Pentagon Row has a great following, especially the groups that run with us weekly out of the shop. However, the size of the store- our smallest at 1,200 square feet and 60% smaller than our average location- limits our ability to provide the experience our customers have come to expect from Pacers Running and the cramped conditions made it difficult to host our popular in-store events. We look forward to still supporting runs and races from Pentagon Row and continuing to be an integral part of the South Arlington fitness community.

These mid-summer moves will definitely bring some major changes. We are excited for all the new opportunities and look forward to what’s to come.  We hope you will stay tuned to our social media channels (@runpacers) for all the latest news including announcements about grand opening festivities and other updates.

Making the most of the running off-season with strength training Similar to other athletes, runners have an off-season, which is generally the period between completing your goal race and starting to train for your next big race.
