Join Pacers Running at a 5K for HEROES Sponsored by the United States Park Police Foundation.
Join us at West Potomac Park in DC for the 2nd annual Run for Remembrance 5K benefiting HEROES, Inc®.
HEROES, Inc. (Honor Every Responsible Officer’s Eternal Sacrifice) is dedicated to aid families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who have died in the line of duty in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
The United States Park Police is one of the few full-service police departments in the federal government possessing state, local and federal authority. In addition to performing the normal crime prevention, investigation, and apprehension and functions of an urban police force, the United States Park Police is responsible for policing many of the famous monuments & memorials in the United States.
We’re honored to host a 5K event for such an amazing organization.
We’ve made it our passion to host some of the best (if not the best) running events in the Washington D.C., Northern Virginia area, and the Run for Remembrance 5K is no different. You’ll experience a great course, professional management, Photo Booth and on-course pics, and a start-finish line announcer to add some zing to your run. We’ll provide you with a race packet including your bib, timing chip, a clear plastic Gear Bag, and a custom race tee showing off the inaugural race logo!
Online registration is available now through midnight October 5 for $40 per runner.
October 6 thru race day entries will be $45 per runner.
Onsite registration is not available per park permit but the Online Capability will be open and completed entries can collect a bib early in the Clarendon Pacers or at the site race morning.
Make a TEAM – run as a CHALLENGE!
Appoint a Captain of a group of 4 runners … that brave soul registers first and CREATEs the Team with a great name. Then the next 3 runners register and pay and JOIN that team name. All teams are open gender for a competition that will award the overall 1,2,3 by combined finish times. And don’t worry if you need help with setting the roster, email [email protected] with the team name, and member names and we can help confirm.
As with every race, you have questions. Well, we have answers and you can find them here:

Race Course & Support
The certified 5K course is flat and fast, good for a new PR. The course follows Ohio Drive and then reverses direction to return to the finish. Water stations will be located at approximately the 1.5 mile mark.
Safety is the name of our running game. With all of our races, we ensure a fun, and well-managed event. Water will be available at the Start/Finish Line area as well as at a water station on course. The Race Director will travel by motorbike to lead the race while Race Crew members trail all competitors to monitor for any irregular situations that may arise and require attention. There will be Medics available to care for injuries or anything that requires medical attention. Lastly, we have will port-a-potties at the Start/Finish Line area.
