Wear Your Green!

This run has been officially endorsed by St. Patty himself, who says:

“Think fast, flat, and as beautiful as me favorite four-leaf clover! In this festive event commemoratin’ yers truly, you’ll cruise along Independence Avenue and Ohio Drive, takin’ in gorgeous vistas of famous DC monuments and the glisnin’ Potomac River. (What would a St. Pat’s Day run be without vistas?!) And because St. Pat’s Day is about all things green, I personally required that the course include a jaunt along D.C.’s lovely Rock Creek Parkway to take in all its natural beauty.”

Kick off your spring racing season by picking from three distances: 5k, 10k, or…the Double (Yep– you can run both!)

Our ever-popular Double option is the perfect choice for people wanting “that little somethin’ extra!” And for your Lil Leprechauns, don’t forget our Kids Dash– the Lil’ Leprechaun Leap!

The Double reaches capacity quickly — be a medal-earner as among the first 900 finishers to register for the Double. After reaching 900, the Double is open for racing but not for the medal so don’t delay in registering if you want to earn that special reward!

You’ll have a great time! Find your friends or view how much fun was had at last year’s race!

Utilizing the city’s best and most scenic avenues, this race has been hailed as having “the most exciting course” in DC..

5k - 8:15 AM

The Start Line for the 5k race is adjacent to the Washington Monument on 15th Street, NW.

10k - 9:00 AM

The Start Line for the 10k race is adjacent to the Washington Monument on 15th Street, NW.

Double

Participants interested in running both the 10K and the 5K should register as “Double” participants.  You will receive a special Orange colored bib at packet pick up that denotes that you are participating in both events — a great option for anyone training for upcoming distance events!

On race day, line up as you would for the 5K, and when you finish, pass by the Finisher’s Medals and either — race to get back into the corral for the 10K , or spend the time in between your finish and the call to the 10K to rest or get in some more mileage!

Double participants will need to finish the 5k in 45 minutes or less to make the 10k Start Line in time.  Late starters won’t be allowed in the 5K  and please also note that the Start Line for the 10k will close exactly 5 minutes after the gun — so please be on time for both.

When you finish the 10K, collect your St. Pat’s Run Finisher Medal, and then reward your 2X effort by strolling over to the registration/results tent to pick up your special Double medal. Please have your bib handy to show to our friendly staff members and they will award you with your prize. (Double Medals are limited to the first 900 registrants)

Double participants will receive a 5K, 10K, and double time (combined times for both events) and the two medals.

If you choose to only run one race and are signed up for the double no biggie . . . you will still receive a time for the event you participated in and do not need to swap a bib.

NOTE – Feb 16 – the Double is fast reaching capacity for being a medal-earner as among the first 900 finishers to register for the Double. After reaching 900, the Double is open for racing but not for the medal so don’t delay in registering if you want to earn that special reward!
